The more I read and the more I actually get to write on my blog, the more excited I get! Leaders in education can teach their staff how to use blogs, one more technology to learn, but at the same time - we can help save the environment by not using paper.
As an educational leader, I can ask other educators to become a part of my blog and give me insight as I ask questions to become a better leader. It isn't always easy to hear how I can improve, but deep down I know it is very essential that I learn how to be a better leader and to keep learning.
Educational leaders can use blogs for Leadership Teams, PLC's, Announcements and personal journaling. I'm sure there are many more ways but this is what I have come up with so far.
I think you made some valid points. I am not sure if you are familiar with the book "Who Moved My Cheese" by Dr. Spencer Johnson, but this book describes how people can possibly react to change. Some people take change with stride and adapt easily, however, I have found myself hesitant towards change lately, especially with the changes in technology. I know it is essential to communicate and collaborate with others, but my preference is face-to-face. I do realize the importance of time (not enough of it) and technology has allowed for us to reach out to others, share ideas, and learn from others in so many ways besides the "traditional meetings." As I familiarize myself and become comfortable with the blogging concepts, I think I will adjust and find the usage to be extremely beneficial.
